About

Built for the room, by people who sat in it.

Ovela is built for the salons that set the standard: the rooms where the work is already exceptional and the software is not. We are building the system those rooms should have been running on years ago.

The industry is divided. Younger clients are leaving mid-market salons for elegant, independent studios and higher end salons. The salons growing through it are the ones that feel like somewhere worth sitting down.

The gap is not talent. It is what a client walks into: a phone ringing through a service, turn argued across the floor, a front desk holding forty things at once. Someone came in to relax and watched people struggle instead. That is a tools problem, and it was never an owner problem.

A salon floor mid-service, every station occupied

Underneath it sits a ceiling nobody talks about: most salons run on one irreplaceable person. It works, right up until it is the reason nothing can grow.

If the business lives in one person’s head, you cannot open a second location, take a day off, or be ill. The thing that made the salon good is the same thing holding it still.

Over half of the nail salons in this country are Vietnamese-owned. We are inspired by that story, and we are building for that community, in English and in Vietnamese, because support that only arrives in one language is not really support.

So we are building a system that carries the mental load. Not to replace the person at the desk, but so the desk stops depending on any one person being there, and attention goes back to the person in the chair.

Exceptional salons deserve an exceptional system. That is the whole of it.

If you are running a room like this, we would rather hear how you run it than tell you about ourselves.
